Radvertising & Supahcute

Being on io9's Radvertising totally made James' day. He said "Despite sniffing so much glue making this standee, we almost didn't bring it due to the size. This is so worth it. " I'm just glad that we're on Radvertising and not on Badvertising lol.

SDCC 2011

Our booth!
SDCC 2011 is finally over. We are so tired, but it's the good kind of tired. It's such a wonderful feeling to be able to connect with people that really like what we do. I think we have the best customers in the world! There was a customer that came by to get a penguin who didn't get one last year. She said that she regretted not getting the penguin for the whole year! Awww <3. A few customers last year also came back for more Picolettes Zipper pulls. A lot of people would buy one and come back later for more. That has to mean that they like our Picolettes right? *beams* I love seeing the collection that people have. There was a very cute girl that kept coming back to hug the yeti. When her mom dragged her away, she'd run back and give our baby yeti another kiss before she ran off again. I took a picture of her hugging the yeti (center pic). Her smile made our day. We also got a surprised gift art from Mister Raroo who stopped by our booth. He drew Sunny and me as little sharks! I'm going to frame it because it's so adorable.

I forgot my camera this year. James came on Saturday and Sunday, so he was able to take some pictures. They were promoting "Adventure Time" quite a bit. The Rainicorn parade on the street was lovely with twinkling green lights. There was also a Team Coco gallery that showed off the Flaming C Conan artworks. Viewers also got to take a picture with either a cape or a kitchen mitten next to Conan both shooting laser eyebeams. It's really awesome. Sunny took one. You also get to keep either the cape or the glove as a souvenir.

Comic cons are always full of interesting cosplayers. Some are amazingly skillful, some are just funny, some sparkly, and some makes you go "aww <3".
There are robots everywhere.

We saw Power Rangers! Sunny kissed upside down Spiderman! Lastly, here is a bonus pic of Sunny and the Spartans from 2010 too.

DIY - MUGO mock ups

AT SDCC 2010, we were right across from MUGO booth. They sell cute all in one MP3 player and USB Flash drive. We got a DIY version. How should I paint it? The shape kind of lends itself to the Yeti, so I was going to make a Vuduberi Baby Yeti version. Then James said it'd look cute with a hoodie, so I tried that as well.

Trunk Show @ New People, SF

We're taking over the 2nd Floor of the New People building in Japantown, San Francisco for a weekend! (Well, a good chunk of it.) We will have lots of goodies for sale and we will be displaying some artworks too! I'm so excited :)

New People building also has an art gallery, a theater, a cafe, "Baby the Stars Shine Bright" for your gothic lolita fashion needs, "Black Peace Now" for the gothic punks, and Sou.Sou shoes too! ♥

Audra from KimonoKitsy studio has been my friend for a long time. She started a webcomic a while back called Nemu-Nemu. It's a cute story about two girls and their stuffed puppies. She's launching a new book soon, and asked if I could do a guest art for it.

Watermelon Angel OMI

Oh I just noticed that Munky King put up the Wall of OMI. Can you spot the VUDUBERI one?

We were right next to the Munky King booth at Comic Con. They were super nice. They asked if we wanted to add to their wall, so we made one :). OMI is a new line of DIY toy. It was kind of hard to paint one during the con because we were busy selling things at our booth at the same time. I also didn't really know what to do, but in the end, some sort of a watermelon angel came out lol.

CTN Expo

I found out about CTN animation Expo a little late, but I decided to go check it out anyways. I heard that it’s a relatively new convention. I finally got to meet Glenn Vilpuu. He is such a kind man. When I was taking oil painting class in college, my teacher was such a big fan of his. He would always tell me that I should look at Vilpuu’s art. I love that teacher. He really loved what he did, and it showed. Since he was such a big Vilpuu’s fan, I’ve always wanted to meet the man in person. Mr. Vilpuu told me that there are so many famous artists at the show. There were also a lot of students everywhere.

I met other artists that came all the way from Canada and from England. They were here for portfolio reviews. Disney booth had a very long line for that. I didn’t see Nickelodeon there which I thought was rather odd. The studio is right down the street from the convention. There were a lot of panels going on. I went to Chris Sander’s How to Train Your Dragon one. They were funny. It was mainly about the storyline. The lines for the panels are super long, so I didn’t really go to too many. I sat in the overflow room to watch some of them on the screen though.


I got to talk to many artists. Armand Serrano from Sony Pictures Animation was especially sweet. I was glad that he was able to see my thought process for many of my works. Not too many people actually notices little things like that. I also got to play with the Cintiq for about an hour at the Wacom booth :p. I think I’m still more of an Intuos person, but it was still fun to play around with the Cintiq for a bit.
